Early this morning, I went to the hospital with a neighbor who fell and hit his head. Needing a few stitches, he called me and asked if I could accompany him to the hospital. Since we were at the start of what is going to be a nasty blizzard today, he said that he would drive his truck rather than ride in my PT Cruiser, a car he said is “nice,” but isn’t made for the snow.
And off we went with light snow falling all around us. When we left this morning, there was only a small accumulation on grassy areas and the roads were barely wet. Arriving at the hospital, we went into the ER and he got stitched up. A couple of hours later, we headed on back to New Milford, only this time, the roads were snow-covered and slick. The usual 15 minute trip took a little over 30 minutes, not too bad.
An hour ago when we arrived back in town, the roads were hideous and will only get worse. Yesterday I planned on working from home today, keeping myself from venturing out. I did cram a lot of visits and meetings into my Tuesday, but it was worth it. Today, I’m writing, crafting, preparing, and dreaming at home. Sermons, prayers, and theological articles don’t write themselves.
